PPP believes in people’s rights, says Rehman Malik

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan People’s Party senior leader and former interior minister Rehman Malik on Monday said that PPP believes in people’s rights. 

He felicitated workers across the world on the occasion of the party’s 54th founding day anniversary.  

Malik said today was the day to pay rich tributes to former prime minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and founding members of PPP for architecting a political platform which introduced the people of Pakistan with their basic democratic rights.”  

He said that on this day we salute and pay homage to the martyrs of the party who sacrificed their lives in the longest struggle in which the sacrifices of the Bhutto family are tremendous. 

Rehman Malik said that before PPP the people of Pakistan were deprived of their basic democratic rights in the absence of a constitution and PPP gave them constitution and awareness of their basic democratic rights. He said that PPP which was founded this day in 1967 is the only political party of the country which exists in every part of the country from Khyber to Karachi and from Parachinar to Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. “PPP is the only political party that is a symbol of the federation and has always strengthened the federating units,” he added. 

He said that PPP has rendered massive sacrifices for the wellbeing of Pakistan, its people and strengthening democracy adding the party workers feel proud to be the part of the mission of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto. 

The PPP senior leader said that today, it is encouraging to witness the mid-level and senior leadership along with their workers are joining PPP to strengthen the party. He urged that we have to adopt the policies of Benazir Bhutto to create great confidence among our workers and need to give a highly attractive agenda for youth, proper programmes for unemployed, and initiating some schemes of self-employment. He advised that such programmes could be initiated by the government of Sindh and that to be replicated across the country on regaining power. He said, “I would like to congratulate all workers on this day and hope we all will work for the party to make it the real party of Z A Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto by strengthening Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.” He appealed to the workers and general public to strengthen the hands of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for the implementation of the PPP manifesto to provide relief to the common man.
