DG FED submits unconditional apology to IHC

Islamabad - Director General Federal Directorate of Education Dr Shahnaz Riaz yesterday submitted her unconditional apology before the Islamabad High Court for misbehaving with the court.
A single bench of IHC Justice Noor-ul-Haq N Qureshi conducted the hearing of the case and sought all the relevant record of the case on the next hearing.
During the hearing, Justice Qureshi remarked that the verdict on her unconditional apology would be announced on the next date and deferred the proceedings till the last week of October.
Previously, the court had refused to pardon the Director General of Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) for her outburst before the court in last month during a hearing.
It was on Aug 25 that Dr Shahnaz Riaz had appeared before the court after her arrest warrants were issued. She was not appearing in a case despite several orders.
On the said date, however, she appeared and registered strong protest upon being issued arrest warrants.
For that, Justice Qureshi charged her with contempt of court and for violating decorum of the courtroom as well as norms of decency.
In this particular matter, Shahnaz A Riaz was supposed to appear before the court on August 24 failing which the IHC had issued her bailable arrest warrants. On August 25 when she appeared before the court, the DG behaved odd and strange before the IHC bench. As a result, the august court ordered her arrest, issued show cause notices and directed her to submit personal recognition (PR) bonds worth Rs50,000 to IHC registrar office alongside bail bonds of the same amount. She was briefly arrested on August 25 and later released.
