IHC suspends licences of 2 labs over fake PCR reports

ISLAMABAD - The Islamabad Health­care Regulatory Authority (IHRA) on Wednesday sus­pended licenses of two labs involved in preparing fake PCR reports. A statement issued by IHRA said that in­spection teams carried out inspections of 82 healthcare establishments (HCEs) in different areas of Islamabad Capital Territory during the past two weeks. It said that 20 of these healthcare es­tablishments were visited upon complaints received in the IHRA Complaints Unit against different HCEs. The healthcare establishments visited included hospitals, rehabilitation centres, di­agnostic labs, collection points, dental clinics, vac­cination centres, GP Clin­ics and homeo/tibb clinics. IHRA suspended the ser­vices until further orders of Shareef Lab and Khan Lab for preparing fake PCR re­ports, DLD Lab for keeping expired reagents, Biotech Medical Lab for expired VTM and tubes, Life Care International Hospital for keeping expired kits, Aryan Clinic and Amin Clinic for unqualified staff.
