WASHINGTON - Chief of Army chief (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa will pay an official visit to United States in the first week of next month to meet senior defence officials and national security officials.
Credible sources in US capital told The Nation that army chief would hold important meetings at Pentagon.
The purpose of the visit is to discuss defense and security issues concerning both the countries.
Army chief will also discuss latest security situation in the region including Afghanistan. He will also take US officials into confidence on situation in IIOJK and continuous threatening statements by Indian leadership against Pakistan. Army chief will also speak at prestigious US think tanks highlighting Pakistan security needs in the context of emerging terrorism threats from Afghanistan.
