SC moved against Altaf's statement

ISLAMABAD Communist Party of Pakistan on Monday filed an application in the Supreme Court seeking trial of MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain on the charge of high treason under Article 6 of 1973 Constitution. CCP in its petition said that on August 22, Altaf while addressing his workers urged the patriotic generals to initiate martial law like step against corrupt politicians and the feudal. The petitioner, Chairman CCP Jameel Ahmed Malik, said in the national history four generals subverted the Constitution and ruled for 36 years, but none of the patriotic generals had abolished corruption and the feudal system. He requested the SC to take notice of Altafs statement under Article 6 and try him. Jameel demanded of the SC for immediate trial of Altaf Hussain, Pervez Musharraf and others on the charges of high treason under the Article 6.
