Website to display products urged

KARACHI - The Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (Unisame) has urged Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Smeda) to jointly set up SME Gallery displaying SME wares on the internet for the benefit of SME units desiring to export their products to global markets by exhibiting them on line all the time.
In a statement President Unisame Zulfikar Thaver urged TDAP and Smeda to place products manufactured by SMEs on a joint website wherein products are displayed on the gallery item wise under different heads.
He said the SMEs can apply to either TDAP or Smeda and obtain positions in the SME Gallery and place pictures and features of their products.
This gallery would be really beneficial to manufacturers of textiles made ups, footwear, leather goods, sports goods, surgical, engineering, foodstuffs and general merchandise and at the same time be an advantage to the buyers to see the different products manufactured in Pakistan and select the goods required by them. It would also enable the foreign buyer to check online different manufacturers of the same product and obtain competitive offers for the item required by them.
The commercial attaches of Pakistan in foreign countries must be informed of the SME Gallery to enable them pass on the details to prospective buyers of Pakistani goods in the overseas markets. It will facilitate both the buyers and the sellers to contact one another and know the whereabouts and also enable the buyers to see the profile of the manufacturers at a glance.
The SME Gallery would also serve as a picturesque directory of Pakistani manufacturers of many exportable items and prove really advantages to the SME units.
TDAP and Smeda would be doing the SME manufacturers a big service by projecting their goods 24/7 on the internet on the SME Gallery managed by them.
