400 Afghans arrested in raid on seminary

TARBELA GHAZI - Police and intelligence agencies raided an Afghan Madrassa in Camp No 15, Haripur, on Tuesday and arrested 400 suspects and shifted them to unknown place.
They also recovered pistols and bullets, however, head of the Mudrassa managed to free from the scene.
According to source, a heavy contingent of law enforcement agencies and local police conducted an operation in the Madrassa established by one Afghan refugee Maulana Muhammad Suliman. At the time of operation, some 400 people belonging to Waziristan and other FATA areas were present in the Madrassa who all were arrested.
According to the source, intelligences agencies  had received information that some Talbans belonging to Khyber Agency, Waziristan and its surrounding areas were residing in that Madrassa with heavy arms and ammunitions.
The source further said that during the operation, the head of the Madrassa managed to free.
KHATTAK ASKS CENTRE TO REPATRIATE AFGHAN REFUGEES
Staff Reporter from Peshawar adds: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervaiz Khattak has communicated his concern over the issues related to the stay and unfettered mobility of Afghan refugees in the province.
Afghan refugees and their movements are the constant source of crime in the province. This, he communicated, at a high level meeting at Chief Minister's Secretariat, Peshawar.
Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Amjad Ali Khan, Secretary Information, Special Secretary Home, Commissioner Afghan Refugees, attended the meeting.
The chief minister called upon the federal government to realize its role in the repatriation of Afghan refugees and confine them to camps outside the province.
"We are in a state of war and the stay of Afghan refugees is an additional burden on the health sector and other infrastructure of the province," he said.
He demanded deployment of Frontier Constabulary at the boarder of settled and tribal areas adding that Afghan refugees are the constant source of worsening law and order situation in the province.
The CM also said that his government is accountable for the safety and security of the people of the province and asked the federal government to show its strong commitment towards repatriation of Afghan refugees outside the province.
He said that they cannot afford terror related events like Army Public School attack and, therefore, as they are under severe pressure of the people and that was why all political forces have agreed on one point to repatriate the Afghan refugees redeploy Frontier Constabulary on boarder of settled and tribal areas.
