Lahore Qalandars launch with Overload

In true Lahori style, Pakistan Super League 2016 Lahore Qalandars was launched to the beat of Papu Sain of the band Overload the other day. The event held at Royal Palm Golf and Country Club was a fun filled fiesta where the stars rocked with their fans. It was a grand event not only to showcase the team but also to show the festivities with a fashion show followed by concert and dinner. Mobilink is now sponsoring the team. The team’s name now is Mobilink Lahore Qalandar. Cricket star Umar Akmal walked the ramp with models and delighted the audience with his stunning performance. Singer Asrar Shah and Overload Band enthralled the audience with their performance. The PSL has created ripples in the world of cricket. Cricket lovers are looking forward to watch the most interesting matches in the history of Pakistan cricket. PSL has created a lot of hype on media and social circles. Lahore Qalandars boasts of having one of the biggest entertaining stars in the game – Chris Gayle and Umar Akmal. Fawad Rana, Najam Sethi and Amir Ibraheem were the guests of honour on the occasion. Talking to The Nation Fawad Rana said he had always wanted to enroll a player who could become the centre of his team and take the whole team forward. “Gayle is the player, who can take the name Qalandars to a new height. “He is one player who can dominate the game anytime and that is why we find him the player to lead Lahore Qalandars. The management was not interested in doing all this at that time but we build up their confidence and motivated them to organise such events of cricket which is beneficial for our young cricketers and source of entertainment for our audience. ”said Fawad Rana.
