The Haripur police on Tuesday arrested five suspects, including a police constable, for their alleged involvement in sexually assaulting a boy, making his videos, photos, and threatening and blackmailing him.

According to details, District Police Officer Haripur Syed Khalid Hamdani disclosed the child pornography case at a press conference in his office.

Syed Khalid Hamdani told that 28th January, Awami National Party Haripur chapter leader Tariq Khan filed an application in the City police station that five persons, identified as Khurram, Shehzad, Ashfaq, Ahmed Shamas and Arsalan residents of village Dheenda and Khalabat, committed a gang rape of his 14-year-old nephew two months ago.

He also mentioned in the application that the suspected five persons, including a police constable of Elite Force, Shehzad, had been making videos and photos of his nephew during the rape and now they were threatening and blackmailing him.

Following the application, a special police team comprising DSP Headquarters Muhammad Sabar, SHO City PS Saeed Yadoon and Incharge District Security Officer Khalid Rehman, was formed.

The special team of experienced police officers and their staff succeeded to trace and arrest all the five suspects within 36 hours of making their day and night hectic efforts. For the proper and deeper investigation, another investigative team comprising skilled and trained police officials headed by SP Investigation Shamasur Rehman had also been constituted.

 The police after investigation suspended constable Shehzad and ordered a departmental inquiry against him.

Hamdani informed the media persons that Inspector General Police KP and Deputy Inspector General Police Hazara Region themselves were monitoring the progress of the investigation.

The district police officer informed that an SOP for the prevention of children from such abuses was also under preparation. The police also presented the accused before the media during the press conference.

Talking to the media persons regarding the complainant and Awami National Party local leader Tariq Khan praised the efforts and performance of the police in the case and shown his satisfaction over the police progress. SP Investigation Shamasur Rehman, DSP Headquarters Cadet Muhammad Sabar, DSP Sadar Circle Zulfiqar Jadoon, SHO City PS Saeed Yadoon, SHO Khalabat PS Muhammad Javaid Khan and Inspector CTD Aziz Ahmed were present in the press conference.
