Youth kills father in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD   -  A youth has stoned to death his father in the area of Batala Colony police station.

Police spokesman said here on Saturday that a youth Shehbaz called his father Mubasshar Raza (50) for prayer but he did not wake up. Therefore, the youth threw a brick toward his father which hit Mubasshar in his head. As a result, Mubasshar Raza received serious injuries and died on-the-spot before getting any medical assistant. The police took body into custody and started investigation.

Woman’s body found

Body of a young woman was found from a deserted place in the area of Sadar police station. Police spokesman said on Saturday that some passersby witnessed a suspect thing wrapped in a quilt at Jaranwala Road near Makkoana and informed the area police. The police rushed to the spot and opened the quilt in which corpse of a 30-year-old woman was wrapped. The police shifted the body to mortuary for postmortem and started investigation for arrest of the accused involved in killing the lady as well as tracing out her family.

FDA retrieves 4.4-kanal state land

The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has retrieved 4.4-kanal state land worth Rs800 million and demolished illegal building structures in the area of Madina Town. An FDA spokesman said that some people had illegally occupied 4.4-kanal land situated behind Chenab Market, Susan Road, Madina Town. He said that FDA Director General Muhammad Sohail Khwaja constituted a team including Director Estate Management Junaid Hasan Manj, Special Judicial Magistrate Ijaz Lateef, State Officer Imtiaz Goraya, building inspectors and other staff members to conduct the operation. 

Assistant Commissioner City Ayub Bukhari also assisted the team in carrying out the operation against the land mafia. The team demolished illegal building structures by using machinery in the presence of heavy police force to avoid any resistance.

Security of churches beefed up

The district police have beefed up security of churches in Faisalabad by deploying additional force there. A spokesman for the police said on Saturday that City Police Officer (CPO) Captain (Retired) Sohail Chaudhry has issued special instruction for improving security of all churches across the district.

He said that there were 337 Christian worship places in Faisalabad for which more than 644 security jawans had been deputed. Seventeen police officers have been assigned the task to check and monitor entire security arrangements while eight combat teams of police force would ensure patrolling in sensitive areas around churches, he added.
