Attock-Even after two years, funds for the financial assistance of students of Comsats University Attock could not be released which were approved in September 2019. The concerned authorities are neither replying in positive nor refusing.
A source of the university said this while talking to this journalist.
As per the sources, on the special efforts made by Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam, Rs 58 million were approved by the federal government for the financial assistance of 180 students belonging to Attock district studying in different faculties at Comsats University Attock Campus but no progress has been made in release of funds for their financial assistance even after two years.
The purpose of approval of this grant was to facilitate the students as they belonged to poor families and were unable to pay their semester fee and other university dues but because of red tapism the students could not get this relief.
As per sources, the authorities sitting in federal government were approached repeatedly but no response was received and students faced a lot of problems in paying their fee and other allied charges of the university. Prime Minister Imran Khan is requested to take notice.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam when contacted for his comments said that the issue was taken up with Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Education. He said that the amount was not big but the process was cumbersome to get it done, however, he said that the issue will be resolved soon and the funds will be released.
