Emirates Airline fined Rs1m for passengers’ fake documents

LAHORE - FIA immigration has imposed fine on Emirates Airline for transporting two passengers to Silakot airport without any travel documents.
FIA immigration authorities imposed Rs1 million fine to the said airline. The fine was deposited in the national kitty in the head of account given by the FIA headquarters on March 21, said spokesman for FIA on Wednesday. He said Emirates had transported two passengers namely Avani and Ayan Kadia to Sialkot airport from Dubai who had not sufficient documents to have entry in Pakistan.
In the meanwhile at Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL), immigration authorities on Wednesday arrested a passenger trying o travel on fake documents. Passenger Tanvir Afzal having passport number KH 853583 was trying to travel to Spain on Spanish card number E16113718 on Emirates Airline. During scrutiny of his previous travel history, it was revealed that another person was also travelling abroad by using MRP number A1515512 and Italian resident card on the same data.
After interrogation, the passenger disclosed that his real name was M Faraz and and he purchased the travel documents from Tanvir Afzal by giving €6000. Passenger Faraz was sent to office of DD/FIA/Gujranwala for registration of a case.
