LARKANA - There is no clue yet to Morti of Jai Shankar allegedly stolen from the Shivalo temple located at Royal Road within the limits of Market police station of Larkana about eight days ago.
The Hindu Panchayat Mukhi Dr Dharampal informed the SHO but it could not be recovered yet. SHO Market police station Sartaj Jagirani told this scribe on Tuesday evening that he obtained the details and visited the site but could not find any clue.
He said he had been informed that two women of Bagri community came to offer prayers at the temple, adding after they left, the statue was missing. He said the statue must have been misplaced but not stolen because theft is committed at night not in the day. Asked if everyone is physically searched before entering the temple as a security measure, he replied police cannot physically search women. However, he hoped that the statue would be recovered within two to three days. He said no FIR has been registered.
Mukhi, Hindu Panchayat, Larkana, Dr Dharampal said that CCTV cameras were also installed and they had watched the footage but nothing could be detected. He said during recent rite, the statue was given golden colour as it is made of brass and copper. He said he had also informed SSP Masood Bangash who had also assured to recover the stolen statue. He said the entire Hindu community was extremely sad and worried over this theft and urged the cops to recover the statue without further loss.
