Sukkur - Sukkur IBA University commemorated its 8th Convocation at its main campus in order to confer degrees and medals to graduating students, said a release here on Wednesday.
Secretary, Universities and Boards Department, Government of Sindh, Muhammad Mureed Rahimoon was chief guest while Aamir Ghouri, President, Sukkur Chambers of Commerce & Industry was the guest of honour in the event. Officers of civil bureaucracy, graduates, parents and people from all walks of life attended the event.
Addressing the occasion, Rahimoon said that the universities across the country should follow the footprints of Sukkur IBA University to impart quality education and produce employable graduates. He said the Sukkur IBA University is the only university of the country offering scholarships to 70 percent of its students and its role in serving community and empowering students from humble background is highly commendable.
He said that Government of Sindh has been supporting Sukkur IBA University enormously and will continue to extend its support indifferent areas and ways to facilitate the students of Sindh.
Vice Chancellor, Sukkur IBA University Prof Dr Syed Mir Muhammad Shah and others also addressed.
World Autism Awareness Day to be marked on April 2
World Autism Awareness Day will be observed on April 2 Saturday in Sukkur to increase people’s awareness about people, especially children, with autism.
The day often features educational events for teachers, healthcare workers and parents, as well as exhibitions showcasing work created by children with autism. In this connection, an event will be organised by a local non-government organisation at District Council Hall Sukkur to mark the World Autism Awareness Day.
