LAHORE - Panther Club won the Pakistan Day SSB Cup Girls Basketball Tournament 2022 after beating Aram Bagh Club by 30-27 in the final played at International Abdul Nasir Basketball Court Karachi.
According to information made available here on Wednesday, Noor Fatima (9), User Takzi (8) and Farah Parveen (8) were prominent players from the winners while Laiba Tabriz (11), Rafia Khalid (9) and Shumaila Khan (6) played well for the runners-up. The final was refereed by Asma Khan, Shamim Parveen and Karan Kumar while the technical officials were Zaeema Khatun and Umbereen Khan.
Special guest Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Government College’s Professor Fauzia Falak distributed trophies among the winners and runners-up and kits and individual prizes among the top performers. KBBA President Ghulam Muhammad Khan, Women Wing In-charge Zaeema Khatun, Asiya Khalid, Zafar Iqbal, Zahid Malik and others were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Fauzia Falak said: “Women are showing the essence of their abilities alongside men in all walks of life including education and sports. Our women have proved that they know how to prove their mettle in every field. If they are given opportunities and facilities, our women are capable of holding aloft Pakistan flag across the globe through their talent in all fields of sports including basketball.”
