Promoted lecturers awaiting posting orders
LAHORE - Promoted lecturers have been longing for posting orders for the past past seven months, Punjab Ittehad-e-Asatiza said on on Monday.
In a statement, Ittehad-e-Asatiza General Secretary Prof Majid Wazir threatened to lead a sit-in outside the Punjab Assembly if the government won’t issue the order within 15 days.
“Promoted to grades 18, 19 and 20, the lecturers haven’t receive their posting orders for the past seven months and their promotional incentives will be invalid by May 31. Thus the government should wake up to the issue,” he said,
Majid Wazir said in Punjab, more than 1,000 posts of grades 19 and 20 while more than 5,000 of grades 18, 19 and 20 of direct quota were vacant for the past many years. ISP central president Prof Nazim Hussnain, Prof Touseef Sadiq, Prof Sarwar Shad, Prof Zubair Jan, Prof Tanveer Husain, Prof Javed Akhtar, Prof Zahid Awan, Prof Ghazala Abid, Prof Dr Shaheen Karamat and Prof Dr Tahira Raana also spoke .
