Akhuwat rehabilitation programme
LAHORE (PR): Third wing opening event was organised under Akhuwat-Fountain House Khawajasiran Socio- Economic Akhuwat Rehabilitation Program was displayed in Mughalpura.
Seeking to assist Khawajasiras who are 50 years of age and unable to entirely provide for themselves. These individuals in some cases suffer from serious medical ailments, physical disabilities & mental disorders and thus require a support system to assist them in their time of need. We provide them with the needed support structure through our monthly stipend, interaction platform and comprehensive health services.
We currently cater to approximately 300 members under this criterion with immediate plan to add many more in the succeeding phase of our program from neighboring areas. To seek this purpose program launched its 3rd branch at Mughalpura.
Under this chapter of program , we have identified and registered young Khawajasira and provide them with skills development ,vocational training, fundamental literacy workshops and job placement services in addition to the established array of services. On this event Majid Zahoor MPA and Haseeb pasha was the chief guest.
Dr.Amjad Saqib (Chairman Akhuwat and Fountain House) Nasir Bashir, Dr. Syed Imran Murtaza, Mozam Khan Advocate and were along the esteemed guests.
Islamic Banking workshop
KARACHI (PR): Meezan Bank recently collaborated with Banque Centrale De Djibouti (Central Bank of Djibouti) and Islamic Development Bank’s research wing (IRTI) to conduct a workshop on transparency, disclosures & governance in Islamic banking for the Central Bank of Djibouti in Djibouti, Africa.
Inaugurated by the Governor of the Central Bank, Ahmed Osman, the program was aimed at building Islamic Banking capacity within the industry and was attended by participants from both the local Islamic and conventional banking industries, including senior officials of the central bank. The workshop was conducted by Ahmed Ali Siddiqui, Head, Product Development & Shari’ah Compliance at Meezan Bank and Dr. Dawood Ashraf from IRTI, IDB’s research division.
Meezan Bank was approached by Islamic Development Bank to jointly conduct this exercise due to Meezan Bank’s strong research and development capability, which is considered as one of the largest research setups in the Islamic banking world with over 30 dedicated team members comprising of experienced banking professionals and Shariah scholars.
Lifebuoy gets accreditation
LAHORE (PR): Lifebuoy has received accreditation from the Royal Society for Public Health’s (RSPH). The accreditation recognises Lifebuoy’s hygiene education efforts with respect to hand washing with soap as a disease-prevention measure.
As a recipient of RSPH accreditation, Lifebuoy will proudly carry the RSPH logo – a demonstration that the brand’s behaviour change campaigns have been independently verified. Lifebuoy and RSPH will work together to improve hand hygiene education, and with this partnership, Lifebuoy hopes to further encourage families to trust in the simple act of handwashing to save lives.
Raheel Pasha, Personal Care Director Unilever Pakistan said, “It is an honour to be awarded this distinction by RSPH, which is one of the oldest public health bodies in the world. As the world’s number one selling germ protection soap, Lifebuoy aims to make a difference by creating accessible hygiene products and promoting healthy habits. This accreditation status validates our hygiene credentials, which will help further our public education efforts and bring us one step closer to achieving our goal of saving lives through behaviour change.”
Naya Nazimabad celebrates Pakistan Day
KARACHI (PR): Naya Nazimabad, held a family festival at its housing project site on March 23, to celebrate and share the spirit of Pakistan Day with the citizens of Karachi. The family festival started with a flag hoisting ceremony. The families enjoyed a number of other activities through the day ranging from food stalls, variety show. Renowned celebrity chefs Zubaida Apa and Chef Gulzar and, Chef Rida Aftab hosted the cooking segment where they interacted and shared cooking tips with the audience.
The night ended with a melodious performance by Sajjad Ali and beautiful fireworks. A project tour was one of the busiest activities of the day, where families were given a guided tour of the project and were updated of its large scale, fast-completing developments. Naya Nazimabad is nearing completion to accommodate the housing demand of the middle income group. 12km long boundary wall making Nay Nazimabad a gated community, 5km long drainage system, networks of internal roads and plans for jamia mosque, schools, vocational centre, hospitals, gymkhana club with football and cricket stadiums, parks and horse club were shown to the visitors.
Sarsabz Agri Expo
LAHORE (PR): Fatima Group has been organizing Pakistan’s largest Agriculture Exposition for the past three years. This years’ Sarsabz Agriculture Exposition was held on the 19th and the 20th of March at the Expo Center Lahore and like previous expositions was a huge success.
The conference was inaugurated by the esteemed Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, also present were the State Bank Governor, the US Ambassador, CEO Fatima Group Fawad Mukhtar and a large number of dignitaries from the agriculture industry and the Government.
Eminent speakers discussed the importance of harnessing the potential of nature and science with regards to the prevalent agriculture practices in Pakistan and several imperative agriculture issues were discussed, which need to be undertaken to ensure best practices in all fields of agriculture.
