First ever BOT project of Punjab almost ready
Lahore (PR): The first ever development project of Punjab, on Build Operate Transfer (BOT) basis, is almost ready courtesy private investment. More than 98 percent construction work of the 1.5 km long flyover at Kahna’s railway crossing in Lahore has been completed.
Lahore Development Authority Director General Abeel .Javed inspected the finishing touches being given to the flyover. Chief Engineer LDA Asrar Saeed also accompanied him on the occasion.
A private company was awarded the contract to complete the flyover at Kahna’s Defence Road at a cost of Rs3 billion under this agreement. The dual carriageway is IOO feet wide, and consists of two lanes on each side.
Walkways have also been constructed for pedestrians on both sides of the flyover.
The private company has borne 100 percent cost of the project, while Lahore Development Authority provided the land and shifted utility services for the purpose at a cost of Rs 8oo million.
Execution of this project is a manifestation of the trust and confidence of private investors in Lahore Development Authority as well as the Punjab Government.
