Newspaper sellers to get loans on easy terms: Fawad

Islamabad - Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said on Monday that newspapers sellers will be given easy loans to continue their business.

Fawad Hussain expressed these views during a meeting with lifetime secretary general of All Pakistan Akhbar Farosh Federation Tikka Khan.

On this occasion, Tikka Khan told the federal minister that 5000 people connected with the business of selling newspapers had been badly affected by coronavirus pandemic. He hoped that PTI government will extend its cooperation to newspapers sellers in this hour of need. He demanded that government should provide loans to newspapers sellers on easy and flexible terms. 

Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry while assuring Tikka Khan of govt’s help said newspapers sellers belonged to labour class. He said it was Prime Minister Imran Khan’s mission to help out needy and the weak segments of the society. He said government will provide loans to newspaper sellers on easy terms. He added that newspapers sellers were the backbone of print media industry. He said government considers it as its duty to solve problems of newspaper sellers. He said government will not leave the people connected with newspaper selling business in lurch. 

At the end of the meeting, Tikka Khan thanked the federal minister. He termed his meeting with Fawad Ch very positive. Tikka Khan said he will again meet the federal minister and present a list of demands to him. The secretary general hoped problems of the newspapers sellers will be solved.
