Past in Perspective
I can testify what UNICEF means to
children, because I was among those who received food and medical help after World War II, I have a long lasting gratitude and trust for what UNICEF does.

United Nations International Children Emergency Fund was established by the UN General Assembly on 11th December 1946. The main objective of the organization was to provide emergency food and health care to children in areas devastated during World War II. Over the course of last seventy years, UNICEF’s work has expanded to include education among other things. The objective of the organization, however, remains the same- that is the protection of children world wide. UNICEF operates in one ninety countries around the world. It collaborates with governmental, non-governmental and civil society organizations to ensure protection of vulnerable children.
